Winter Weather Causes Delays at London’s Heathrow Airport

11th December 2017

Monday 11 December: After heavy snow followed by rain at the weekend, customers travelling in and out of London’s Heathrow Airport (LHR) can expect further delays. The airport is struggling with a backlog of flights as planes need to be de-iced before take-off, and the delays mean there are not enough parking spots for incoming aircraft.  A number of services have been diverted to other airports.

Birmingham Airport (BHX), Luton Airport (LTN) and Gatwick Airport (LGW) have also been affected and around 50,000 British Airways (BA) customers have been impacted by the weather event.
