Parrtjima is the meeting place where old meets new. It is the only authentic Aboriginal festival of its kind, showcasing the oldest continuous culture on earth through the newest technology – all on the 300-million-year-old natural canvas of the MacDonnell Ranges in Central Australia.
Held on Mparntwe (Alice Springs), Parrtjima’s diverse program includes the lighting of the majestic MacDonnell Ranges, unique, large-scale illuminated sculptural installations in the desert, animated artworks and a national line-up of artists, musicians, performers and storytellers. This year also includes a Preview Night and add on workshops, as well as Merne, an exclusive dining-under-the-stars experience.
