Parks and Squares in Fiji

Fiji is not just for sunloungers, beaches and cocktails. There are plenty of ways to get out and about from ‘mild’ to ‘wild’. Whether it’s a relaxing round of golf, hike in the rainforest or swim, dive or snorkel in any of the wonderful aquatic playgrounds, Fiji has something for everyone.

Bouma National Park

On the lush island of Taveuni, Bouma National Heritage Park is an important wildlife reserve, protecting more than 16000 hectares of ancient rainforest laced with gorgeous waterfalls and home to many rare birds and endemic flora. It’s a great location for trekking and just enjoying being at one with nature.

Colo-i-Suva Forest Reserve

Colo-i-Suva Forest Reserve near Suva is a magnet for birdwatchers with 4 different bird species, including scarlet robins, spotted fantails, Fiji goshawks, sulphur-breasted musk parrots, Fiji warblers and more inhabiting the park with 6.5km of cool and shady walking trails.

Koroyanitu National Park

Koroyanitu National Park is conveniently close to Nadi and active Denarau guests can hike the two hours to the 1163m summit of Mount Batilamu, the tummy of the Sleeping Giant.

Zip line through jungle

When you’ve finished inspecting the Sleeping Giant’s beautiful orchids, pop over to Zip Line Fiji where 10 lines of varying length and excitement await. Zip to your heart’s content with or without the kids in a park-like setting where you can enjoy lunch under the waterfall.

Lautoka Botanical Gardens

On its own, Lautoka isn’t the tourism magnet, but the city really has pride in the Botanical Gardens which provide a hub of tranquility in this bustling little business centre. You can talk to the horticulturalist during the week or just relax under a shady tree.
