My journey starts in V Australia's upper class with its fully flat beds, mood lighting and (the best part) a bar with Moet flowing. The service on V Australia was incredible and a refreshing change.
In Alaska, I cruised on Holland America's ms Westerdam ship which is a traditional style 4 star ship with 5 star service. The average age was 55+ so having a group of 50 young travel agents on board definitely livened things up.
The highlight for me was our day in Juneau. I caught the local bus up to the Glacier and was one of the very lucky few to spot a bear. It was a beautiful black bear playing in the water trying to catch salmon to fatten up for the winter. I have many photos for non-believers.
The Alaskan scenery is simply breathtaking. To be able to see it from the luxury of your cruise deck is very special. As everyone now knows cruising is an easy way to travel. Unpack once and don't think of another thing except when to eat again - which is something you do all day long.
After the cruise finished I had a night in LA and saw the new SLS Hotel in Los Angeles, opposite The Beverley Center. This ultra funky Philip Stark hotel is the place to be seen. With a restaurant at the front full of culinary creations and delicious cocktails from chef José Andrés foodies will love it. If you are interested in star spotting this is where they all hang out. The day I was there Sharon Stone was lazing in the pool.
This trip was an amazing experience and something I would definitely recommend to my clients.
