For more than 35 years, Brigid Avery has been designing exceptional journeys for discerning travellers, earning a reputation as one of the industry's most experienced and trusted luxury travel advisors. Having explored more than 120 countries across all seven continents, she brings an unrivalled depth of first-hand knowledge, global connections and a genuine passion for creating extraordinary experiences that few others can access.

Brigid specialises in creating highly personalised journeys where every detail is meticulously considered. Whether it's an around-the-world itinerary, an ultra-luxury cruise, a private wildlife expedition or a celebration of life's most important milestones, she is known for crafting seamless experiences that feel effortless from beginning to end.

Her approach is shaped by a lifetime of extraordinary travel. From multiple gorilla treks through the rainforests of Uganda and Rwanda to sleeping on the ice in Antarctica, sailing through the Caribbean and receiving a private blessing from the head monk at Bhutan's iconic Tiger's Nest Monastery, Brigid has sought out experiences that are as meaningful as they are unforgettable.

While she has travelled extensively across the globe, it is the world's wild places that continue to inspire her most. The polar regions, Africa's remarkable wildlife and remote wilderness destinations have deepened her appreciation for nature, while Bhutan remains one of the places closest to her heart for its spirituality, generosity and profound respect for the natural world.

For Brigid, luxury is never defined by five-star hotels alone. It's about creating experiences that are deeply personal, thoughtfully curated and impossible to replicate. With an unwavering commitment to service, she is always there when her clients need her, anticipating every detail and finding solutions before challenges arise.

Whether you're seeking an exclusive expedition, a once-in-a-lifetime celebration, an ultra-luxury voyage or an extraordinary journey tailored entirely to you, Brigid combines decades of expertise with genuine care to create experiences that will stay with you long after you've returned home.

How do you go above and beyond for your clients?

My philosophy has always been simple: the answer is "yes", and I'll work out the details later. For more than three decades, I've been personally available whenever my clients need me - whether by phone, WhatsApp or email, even when I'm travelling myself. I don't believe in handing clients over to an after-hours service. They know they're speaking directly with me, someone who understands their journey, anticipates their needs and is there every step of the way.

What is the most amazing experience you have created for a client?

It's impossible to choose just one. One of the most rewarding was coordinating the travel for more than 2,000 performers, musicians and crew for the 2018 Commonwealth Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies, bringing people and equipment from around the world to the Gold Coast within an incredibly tight timeframe. On a more personal level, I loved creating annual Royal Ascot journeys, flying clients First Class to London, arranging stays at 45 Park Lane, securing coveted restaurant reservations, private millinery appointments and adding thoughtful touches to each suite before they arrived. It's those details that transform a trip into something truly unforgettable.

What is your number one travel tip?

Take photos of everything you pack before you leave home, including the contents of your suitcase. If your luggage is ever delayed or lost, it makes insurance claims far simpler. And if you're travelling to polar regions or other cold climates, keep your spare camera battery somewhere warm - it can make all the difference when you're trying to capture those once-in-a-lifetime moments.

What is your favourite travel memory?

There have been many unforgettable moments, but one that will stay with me forever was visiting Bhutan. While exploring Tiger's Nest Monastery, I found myself alone when the head monk emerged, invited me to sit beside him and gave me a personal blessing. It was an incredibly humbling experience that perfectly captured the warmth, spirituality and deep respect for nature that make Bhutan one of my favourite places in the world.
