What are your favourite destinations to visit and why?
Japan, because it's perfect in all seasons, offering something for everyone. Sakura in spring and yellow/red leaves in autumn, onsen and skiing in winter, while summer brings festivals and sunshine. You can do coach tours, road trips, city walks, cultural holidays, theme parks and even cruising, in or around the country. It's for all ages. And the food there - phenomenal!
Why do you love travel? Tell us what it means to you?
Travel offers a welcome escape from the repetition of daily routines. It allows me to step away from the familiar and immerse myself in new environments, cultures, and experiences. There's a certain freedom that comes with being somewhere different, where time feels slower, and every day brings a sense of discovery. One of the greatest pleasures of travel is the food: trying local dishes, exploring vibrant markets, or sitting down at a street-side café to enjoy something completely unfamiliar.
How do you go above and beyond for your clients?
I was taught to think one step further than my clients. Sometimes it's a lengthy phone call to explain a few simple questions, or a door-to-door delivery of cruising documents, or an after-hour cruise consultation at the McDonald's; but sometimes it's just a reminder of passport renewal, or quickly checking in to see if they have everything they need before travelling.
What's still on your travel bucket list?
A Rocky Mountaineer train ride. I've always been fascinated by scenic train journeys, and the Rocky Mountaineer is at the top of my travel bucket list! The idea of travelling through the Canadian Rockies in a glass-domed train car, surrounded by breathtaking mountain landscapes, pristine lakes, and wildlife, sounds like a dream. I love the slower pace of train travel - it gives you time to really soak in the views and appreciate the journey as much as the destination.
