Ken specialises in luxury cruising and has a passion for luxury travel in general. He has first-hand experience of six-star cruising and five-star properties that he is happy to share with his clients.
Of the countless aspects that make for a great destination, for Ken it is the people. “It might be outstanding service, such as a bartender who remembers your name and favourite drink, or the natural friendliness of the people – Fiji is a perfect example of this. The Fijian people are some of the friendliest on earth. I have been to Fiji no less than 15 times and despite its natural beauty, it's the people who hold a special place in my heart”.
His favourite destination is Lake Tekapo in New Zealand, which he has visited on more than one occasion. “Each time I see Lake Tekapo it just makes me feel like I have found heaven on earth. It gives me great joy to be planning my own wedding at the picturesque stone church overlooking Lake Tekapo in November 2019.”
Ken feels privileged to come to work each day and learn about new destinations, products and experiences to share this with his clients. He recently organised a trip to Scandinavia for a mother and daughter that was packed with unforgettable experiences, like a stay in a glass‐roofed village in Finland so they could witness the magical Northern Lights and exciting activities like dog sledding, snowmobile rides and ice fishing. To round out the perfect holiday, Ken suggested a reindeer safari in Rovaniemi and a stay at Santa Claus Village in the Arctic Circle.
Testimonials
We have the most helpful consultant. Thanks to Ken and his team, everything always goes smoothly.
I’m a concert pianist from Sydney. Over the past 12 months I undertook a complex performance tour of the USA, Canada and Spain. Ken Higgins helped me plan this tour, which involved flying in and out from more than 18 different airports. What an absolute gentleman Ken was during my whole endeavour. He exercised the utmost professionalism, care and patience with me when my flights were changed, or a ticket allocation expired, or dates and routes needed recalculating. I knew he was always a phone call or email away and this gave me great comfort whilst travelling. He is an absolute credit to your team and will be my preferred contact for all of my travelling needs for the future.
There are two kinds of people in this world; those who love cruising and those who don't. I had determined long ago that I would never go on a cruise ship. Well, that all changed this year. [I wanted to go to Alaska and had heard that the best way to see it was on a cruise]. I was unconvinced but my wife walked in and spoke to Ken and the next day, we were booked on an 11-day cruise from Vancouver to Anchorage on Seabourn Sojourn. I can honestly say it was one of the best holidays of my life. Service on the ship could not be faulted and there was no time to be bored. My goals were to photograph bears, eagles and wildlife. My wife's were to see a glacier, photograph a blue iceberg and spend her time in the hot tub. As well as fulfilling those goals, we rode a dogsled on a glacier, helicoptered over mountains, jet boated against fast-flowing glacial rivers and kayaked in the freezing waters. Would I cruise again? We have already spoken to Ken about Antarctica.
