Sample world-class cuisine, from the finest restaurants to simple and honest meals. Marvel at the artwork of the old masters, dazzling city architecture, and the ruins of ancient civilisations. The sheer diversity of destinations and cultures is astounding.

And the best way to experience it all is through a cruise holiday. The amazing breadth and variety of itineraries to choose from means that there’s something catered to every taste. Oceania Cruises have over 60 itineraries exploring Europe in 2019, European cities included across all their itineraries, focusing on port-intensive holidays to help you make the most of your time in this amazing continent.

Visit the northern coast of the Mediterranean, stopping off to laze on the beach or sample fresh seafood and regional wines. Head further east towards the underrated Balkan region and its beautiful nature, or north to the Baltic Sea, where the Northern European cities stand strong and proud against the elements.

But there are some other ports that you might not have even begun to think of. Tórshavn in the Faroe Islands is a culturally rich stop that’s sure to be the highlight of any trip. Or look further north to Iceland and its quirky cities of Reykjavik, Akureyri, and Ísafjörður, all surrounded by immensely powerful nature.

Equally as interesting ports that fly under the radar are found closer to the mainland as well. The French island of Corsica offers a wealth of adventure off the coast of Italy, all of it easily accessed from the capital port city of Ajaccio. Klaipėda city in Lithuania is a distinctly foreign place that might surprise you with its orderly German architecture and history as a part of the Kingdom of Prussia.

A cruise holiday is one of the most luxurious and comfortable ways to see Europe, providing you with unique experiences that you’ll take home with you long after disembarking. The feeling of waking up to watch a new city loom larger on shore, and the relief after folding back into your comfortable and freshly tidied room after a day exploring.

Out at sea the starry skies dance over dark and silent waters as the cruise ship forges on to the next port, and morning sunrises send the sky spiraling into hues of pink and orange that stir your imagination. Spot pods of dolphins arcing over the ship’s wake, or whales breaching in the far-off distance. All of it can only be experienced on a cruise - the perfect way to explore Europe.
