The past few months have been stressful to say the least, and if you're like us, all we can think about is escaping to a luxurious spa where all we have to think about is what treatment to try next. To help you plan, below you will find our hand-crafted curation of our very favourite wellness holiday experiences, both close to home and a little further away. Try them sooner rather than later, or add them to your travel wishlist.
One&Only Wolgan Valley, NSW
This incredible lodge in Wolgan Valley is on many of our travel wishlists, and for good reasons. There are so many good reasons in fact that some may overshadow its glorious spa, which we think deserves a very good rap. Hot and cold outdoor pools, an aromatic steam room and a restorative sauna await before your treatment even begins in one of the six beautiful treatment rooms (each fitted with a Japanese-style soaking tub and incredible floor to ceiling views of the bush landscape). And they now, quite uniquely, offer a range of sound therapy treatments which bring a sense of complete relaxation through the vibration of sound.
"From the moment you arrive at the day spa you already feel like you're in such a remote secluded tranquil setting. The Pure Radiance Facial combined with the Body Balance Salt Glow left me feeling so relaxed and rejuvenated. My skin was glowing."
EMPIRE Spa Retreat, Yallingup, WA
Our list is long with the many reasons we love EMPIRE Spa Retreat. The spa itself is a masterpiece, with bathing suites complete with large stone baths, a steam room and rainforest shower suites, all embracing its bushland setting. Solo visitors and couples will equally delight in the spa menu, with every traditional spa therapy you could think of along with a selection of unique "rituals" for something out of the ordinary. Your stay in one of their 11 luxurious suites will be similarly divine, each designed with absolute privacy. When you feel like company, head to the farmhouse to relax in comfort by a toasty fire or the atrium-style dining room with spectacular views of the Margaret River vineyards.
Byron at Byron Retreat, a Crystalbrook Collection, NSW
A popular wellness retreat on many of our wishlists, you'll be enveloped in natural luxury as soon as you walk through the retreat doors, hidden in 45-acres of Byron Bay subtropical rainforest. Start your days with morning beach yoga and a relaxing walk through the rainforest, then take your time enjoying the long list of spectacular treatments at The Spa. Designed with Indigenous products embracing natural healing, there's something for every tension. And in between treatments, immerse yourself in the relaxing mineral spa or steam room.
"My wife and I stayed three nights in a deluxe spa suite and wished we could have stayed forever. We were right in the heart of nature and found The Byron at Byron to be one the most peaceful and eco-friendly places we have stayed in Australia. We treated ourselves to a Hawaiian Healing Massage which was both relaxing and indulgent. Otherwise known as a Lomi Lomi massage it is certainly an invigorating experience if you have never had this treatment before. our massage was followed by a 30-minute body scrub and a champagne breakfast. The staff at The Byron at Byron are delightful and very professional. We would return in a heartbeat and I have recommended this resort to many of my clients."
Lake House Daylesford, VIC
