Day 1 Stockholm, Sweden
Stockholm is built across 14 islands where Lake Malaren meets the Baltic Sea, its Gamla Stan medieval old town rising from the water. The city pairs Michelin-starred restaurants and design museums with the Vasa warship museum, home to the 17th-century warship that sank on its maiden voyage and was raised intact in 1961. The city's waterways, parks, and archipelago of 30,000 islands complete an urban setting of exceptional quality.

Day 3 Copenhagen, Denmark
Effortlessly cool and built to be livable, Copenhagen is a green, clean Scandinavian metropolis where cycling is the default mode of transport and the colourful warehouses of Nyhavn frame a pastoral waterfront. The Little Mermaid statue, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale, is the city's most quietly self-assured landmark. Day 4 Aarhus, Denmark
Known as the City of Smiles, Aarhus Denmark's second city balances Viking roots with an irresistibly youthful energy shaped by its thriving student population. The ARoS museum's celebrated Rainbow Panorama frames the city in sweeping arcs of colour, while Den Gamle By brings history to life through costumed residents and cobblestone lanes. From the pastel-hued cottages of Mollestien to the Iron Age remains at Moesgaard, Aarhus rewards curiosity at every turn.
Day 5 Skagen, Denmark
Skagen sits at the very tip of the Jutland peninsula, where the North Sea meets the Skagerrak and the two currents are visible as a line in the water at Grenen. The town's exceptional light drew Scandinavian painters in the 19th century, and the Skagen Painters' legacy is preserved in museums whose collections rank among Denmark's finest.
Day 6 Oslo, Norway
Over the past two decades Oslo has reinvented its waterfront into one of Europe's most acclaimed urban transformations. The Oslofjord's former industrial port now houses the Opera House, the Munch Museum, and the Astrup Fearnley gallery. The historic Vigeland Sculpture Park, the royal palace, and an easy access to the surrounding forests ensure the Norwegian capital rewards every kind of visitor.
Day 7 Kristiansand, Norway
Kristiansand, Norway's fifth-largest city, is the summer getaway of choice for many Norwegians. Posebyen Old Town is a delightful cluster of timber houses with floral-shaded facades. The Kilden Performing Arts Centre on the waterfront is a recent architectural landmark housing a resident orchestra.
Day 8 Haugesund, Norway
Haugesund was founded during the 19th century by herring fishermen, and the Fishermen Memorial in Torggata street commemorates their contribution to the region's prosperity. The town hosts the International Norwegian Film Festival, the Sildajazz jazz festival, and several museums, earning it the nickname the Nordic Cannes. Nearby Avaldsnes, considered the cradle of the unification of the Kingdom of Norway, is home to the Nordvegen History Centre and St. Olav's Church, built around 1250 AD.
Day 9 Eidfjord, Norway
Eidfjord is enriched with chalky blue waters, plummeting green slopes, and gushing waterfalls amid Hardangerfjord's natural grandeur. The thundering Voringsfossen Waterfall tumbles 200 metres, while Trolltunga teeters precariously over a 700-metre drop to the lake below. The Trolltrain offers a relaxed route through the area, passing a Viking burial ground.
Day 10 Stavanger, Norway
Stavanger, Norway's oil capital, balances its petrochemical industry with a photogenic old town of white wooden houses, excellent museums including the Norwegian Petroleum Museum, and access to some of the country's most dramatic hiking. The Preikestolen cliff, a flat-topped rock platform 604 metres above the Lysefjord, is one of Norway's most celebrated viewpoints and a short drive from the city.

Day 13 Southampton, United Kingdom
Southampton is where the Titanic departed in 1912, but the city's maritime history begins centuries earlier Henry V's Agincourt fleet left from here, as did the Mayflower in 1620. Today it is Europe's busiest cruise port, and the Sea City Museum, the medieval city walls, and the Tudor Merchant's Hall make it a compelling destination in its own right.
