Itinerary

Italy’s Coast and Cities: Rome to Venice
Across 16 days, you'll travel the length of Italy. In Rome, you wander among ancient stone and through modern city streets. Then it’s on to Capri where you can climb nearly 2,000 feet above the water, watching the coastline fall away as the island spreads below. In Perugia, you'll catch the soft click of the loom as you learn a craft passed from hand to hand. And in Venice, you'll cross the lagoon by boat to Burano, its brightly painted houses lining the canals as you raise a glass, taste local specialities and celebrate Italy in the company of the people who have shared it with you.

Day 1 Arrive in Rome
You’ll arrive in Rome to streets layered with ancient ruins, medieval buildings, Renaissance palaces and Baroque churches, each one carrying the burnished glow of centuries. After time to unpack, you step back out to restaurant chatter, polished stone and waiters weaving between trattoria tables along the street. This evening, you meet your Travel Director and fellow travellers over dinner at a local restaurant, sharing Roman specialities as you pass warm plates and savour the first forkfuls of the trip. Meals: Dinner Hotel: C-Hotels Fiume Rome

Day 2 Rome with a Local
Today is devoted to The Eternal City. Join a Local Specialist to discover the modern-day city and how people lived in Ancient Rome. See St. Peter's Square in the Vatican City, then cross the Tiber River for a visit to the iconic Colosseum. Meals: Breakfast Hotel: C-Hotels Fiume Rome
