Jo says India gets under your skin and leaves you with a whole new appreciation and level of respect for life. “The landscapes are breathtaking, the culture is majestic, and the people stay in your hearts forever,” says Jo.
Speaking to Jo, it soon becomes evident that she enjoys planning holidays that help people to ‘switch off' and find a new perspective. "Travelling can teach you that we don't need very much to be happy. We could all learn to live more simply."
Jo says few places provide as great a sense of detachment as the Arctic. “You can spot polar bears, see icebergs as big as skyscrapers and witness the Northern Lights all in one amazing expedition,” she says.
If you enjoy a few more creature comforts, ask Jo about one of the best places to stay in Ubud. She knows an incredible wellness resort with a focus on healthy food and the mind-body connection. She says the coconut banana crepes there are worth going for alone!
Considering a holiday in the USA this year? Jo has an excellent itinerary suggestion for Hawaii. “I know a great drive that encompasses the best of the ocean and country landscapes,” she says. “I’ll even suggest a spot where you can stop for lunch – it does the world’s best grilled fish!”

What is the most amazing experience you have created for a client?
I had the privilege of booking a holiday for a friend's mum who sadly had terminal cancer. I wanted it to be perfect for her and accommodating to her needs. They travelled to the Kimberley and sent me photos along the way, and I could see the pure joy in her face. You can't put a price on that experience.
What is your number one travel tip?
Take it slow, immerse yourself and don't spend your time ticking off sightseeing lists. Look for something local like a restaurant, coffee shop, or market and spend some time there, taking in all the sights and sounds.
What are your favourite destinations and why?
I adore India for the colours, the people, the vibrancy and the strong spiritual connection. I have escorted small group tours for women to India incorporating all of the above and it is a wonderful retreat for any traveller.
How do you go above and beyond for your clients?
Everyone has a reason and a story for why they are travelling and I like to understand that story so I can weave it through the trip for them. I think if you get to know your clients and understand what their trip means to them, then you are ahead of the game.
