Kirsten Bews is a seasoned travel advisor whose own insatiable desire for exploration has led her on a remarkable journey through 50 countries and fuels her commitment to delivering exceptional travel experiences.
Hailing from South Africa, Kirsten's travel journey began when she moved to the UK at the age of 19. From there, she embarked on two adventurous summers in the USA before settling in Australia. Kirsten's rich multicultural background has provided her with an unparalleled perspective on travel.
Kirsten's personal travel experiences are a testament to her wanderlust. She's witnessed the sunrise casting its golden hues over Angkor Wat, taken the exhilarating plunge skydiving over White Haven Beach and enjoyed a night under the stars in Petra. But it was a recent three-month round-the-world adventure that stands out.
"Starting in South Africa, we embarked on a thrilling safari in Kruger National Park, savoured Cape Town's charm, and jetted off to London, Iceland, and Munich's Oktoberfest. A road trip from Croatia to Budapest, a Danube River cruise, New York's energy, Niagara Falls in Toronto – the journey spanned continents. Exploring the US further, we stayed at Graceland in Memphis, reveled in New Orleans' culture, and slept under the stars in Utah in a glamping tent. A helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas followed before we headed to San Francisco and home," Kirsten recounts.
A believer in the "you only live once" philosophy, which she incorporates into her travel advice and planning, Kirsten recalls a client who contacted her after receiving a devastating medical diagnosis. His dream was to go fishing on Lake Mead in the USA. Despite the last-minute nature of the trip and a lack of availability, her determination and desire to “seize every opportunity” saw Kirsten secure a day trip with a local angler, who picked up her client and took him out for a fishing trip to remember. Another unforgettable trip Kirsten crafted revolved around a proposal in Iceland, where she orchestrated a magical moment under the Northern Lights.

What is the most amazing experience you have created for a client?
I helped a client plan his proposal to his now wife in Iceland. He booked a beautiful lodge in the middle of nowhere and popped the question under the Northern Lights.
What is your number one travel tip?
Airport transfers are a game-changer. Having someone waiting at the airport with your name on a board, escorting you, and dropping you off at the hotel is the best after a long flight.
What are your favourite destinations and why?
South Africa will always have a special place in my heart. I grew up there and experienced it first-hand, but I never travelled it as a tourist. So when I go back, I like to make sure I see something different or have an experience while I'm there. The wildlife is like no other and going on a safari is such an experience!
How do you go above and beyond for your clients?
I go out of my way to be there for my clients, especially when they encounter challenges during their travels. For instance, re-arranging flights and dealing with cancellations can be really frustrating, so I like to take the stress out of travel for my clients.
