Megan is one of those well-travelled storytellers you want to invite to your dinner party. She has cuddled the orangutans in Borneo, taken pictures with penguins in Antarctica and swum with seals in The Galapagos Islands. If you haven’t guessed it by now, this expert travel manager doesn’t do holidays in halves.
Take for example, a special 70th birthday celebration she organised for one of her clients. It took place in one of the world’s most epic settings: the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. As if that’s not impressive enough, she even arranged a gluten-free cake for the client and a group dinner booking at Aguas Calientes, that evening.
The Inca Trail holds a special place in Megan’s heart, as is it was there she met her now-husband, on a four-day hike. Ask her how to make the most of the iconic Machu Picchu experience.
If it’s South American insights you’re after, Megan is your match. She lived in this incredible content for nine months, immersing herself in all of the rich experiences it has to offer. She has snorkelled the Blue Hole in Belize and witnessed rare blue-footed boobies in their natural habitat, and that’s just the beginning. “If you haven’t been to South America yet, you are missing out!” she exclaims.
Megan’s travel knowledge stems far beyond the southern borders. She has been to almost 50 countries, from the archaeological wonders of Albania to the rugged terrain of Zambia. Ask her about hiking in Nepal, the best beaches in Thailand, or how to live luxe in Monaco.
Megan is also passionate about Africa, and can offer great advice when it comes to exploring the sand dunes of Namibia or finding the best viewing point for Victoria Falls. If you are going to visit Africa, you have to do it right, and turning to an expert like Megan is the first step towards a seamless holiday.
With 17 years industry experience and tertiary qualifications in tourism management, Megan is a walking atlas who knows just what it takes to craft a spectacular trip away.

What are your favourite destinations to visit and why?
The Galapagos Islands are truly special – they are like nowhere else in the world with an unmatched diversity of animals and plants. I was lucky enough to spend over six weeks there teaching English, working on a scientific research boat, and experiencing a week-long tourist boat experience. What an incredible, untouched part of the world!
What is the most amazing experience you have created for a client?
I remember the delight and surprise of one of my clients when I organised a surprise 60th birthday cake for her at a restaurant in a small town called Aguas Calientes at the base of Machu Picchu. Luckily I can speak a little Spanish so that helped with the communication. It was a surprise she will never forget!
Why do you love travel? Tell us what it means to you?
Travel for me is living. It means adventure, meeting people, sharing experiences, exploring different foods, religions, languages, and ways of life. It is fun, challenging, and the purpose of life. I chose to do my degree in Tourism Management and have worked in the industry ever since!
How do you go above and beyond for your clients?
I like to get to know and build rapport with my clients, building lifelong relationships. I like to share personal experiences and passions I have with my clients. I have brought in personal travel photo books to share with my clients going to the same destination. I also love it when clients share some of their favourite photo memories post-trip.
