Peta has specialised in curating luxury journeys for more than 21 years, drawn to destinations that are a little less travelled. "I love uncovering hidden gems in places that haven't been overrun by tourism, where authentic cultural experiences and genuine local connections are still at the heart of the journey," she says.

One of the most memorable trips Peta has arranged was for a client's 85th birthday - a night at the Royal Albert Hall complete with a limousine and VIP seats, built entirely around his love of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. "It was more than just arranging a holiday," she recalls. "It was about creating a once-in-a-lifetime memory."
That same care for the individual traveller shapes everything Peta plans. "I take the time to understand exactly what my clients want, then curate personalised experiences that go beyond the typical tourist attractions," she explains - an approach she experienced herself on a self-drive adventure through Sri Lanka, and one that led to her favourite luxury stay, Patina Maldives, where "the James Turrell Skyspace was unlike anything I had experienced before."
Her own favourite travel memory took a little more effort to earn: reaching the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro at sunrise after ten days of trekking. It's that same willingness to go the extra mile that clients rely on, as one put it after a flight disruption in the Middle East: "Having someone to handle the airlines and advocate on our behalf has honestly been a lifesaver."

What is the most amazing experience you have created for a client?

One of the most memorable trips I’ve ever arranged was for a client, Albert Hall (now sadly deceased). For his 85th birthday, I organised a special journey to London, knowing it was a destination he had always wanted to enjoy in style.

Albert was a huge fan of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and by pure coincidence, a performance associated with the show was taking place at the Royal Albert Hall on his birthday. Wanting to make the occasion truly unforgettable, I worked closely with his hotel to create a VIP experience.

On the evening of the show, a limousine collected Albert from his hotel and transported him to the Royal Albert Hall, where premium VIP seats were waiting for him. Every detail was carefully planned to ensure he could simply relax and enjoy the experience.

Seeing the joy this surprise brought to Albert was incredibly rewarding. It was more than just arranging a holiday; it was about creating a once-in-a-lifetime birthday memory for a very special client. Moments like these are a reminder of why I love what I do: transforming travel dreams into unforgettable experiences.

How do you go above and beyond for your clients?

I take the time to understand exactly what my clients want from their holiday, including their interests, passions, and travel style. From there, I curate personalised experiences that go beyond the typical tourist attractions, incorporating unique "off the beaten track" moments that create lasting memories.

I believe luxury travel is about more than just exceptional hotels and seamless service. Wherever possible, I include authentic experiences that connect travellers with local people, culture, and communities, allowing them to gain a deeper appreciation of the destination while travelling responsibly.

My goal is to design journeys that perfectly balance exclusivity, authenticity, and luxury, ensuring every trip feels truly unique and tailored to the individual traveller.

What is your number one travel tip?

My number one travel tip is simple: never leave your hotel without a charged power bank. It keeps you connected, helps you access maps and travel information, and provides peace of mind throughout your journey.

What are your favourite destinations to visit and why?

I’m drawn to destinations that are a little less travelled and offer a sense of discovery. I love uncovering hidden gems in places that haven’t been overrun by tourism, where authentic cultural experiences and genuine local connections are still at the heart of the journey.

One of my most memorable recent trips was a self-drive adventure through Sri Lanka. It opened my eyes to a different style of luxury travel, one that combines exceptional experiences with sustainability, community engagement, and a deeper connection to the destination. From boutique properties and breathtaking landscapes to incredible wildlife and warm local hospitality, Sri Lanka perfectly showcased how luxury travel can be both meaningful and responsible.

For me, the most rewarding destinations are those that surprise you, challenge your perceptions, and leave you with unforgettable memories and a greater appreciation for the world around you.

Where or what is still on your travel bucket list?

Bhutan is at the very top of my travel bucket list. Ever since I was a child, I’ve been fascinated by this peaceful Himalayan kingdom and its unique approach to measuring success through Gross National Happiness rather than economic output alone.

I’m drawn to Bhutan’s stunning landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and strong commitment to sustainability and preserving its traditions. The country's focus on wellbeing, community, and environmental conservation is something I admire.

For me, Bhutan represents a rare opportunity to experience a destination that values quality of life, mindfulness, and meaningful travel. It’s a place that has captured my imagination for years, and I hope to finally experience its magic firsthand one day.

What is your favourite travel memory?

My favourite travel memory is reaching the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, at sunrise. After 10 days of trekking, standing at the top and watching the first rays of light illuminate the landscape below was an unforgettable experience.

The sense of achievement, combined with the breathtaking scenery and the journey it took to get there, made it one of the most rewarding moments of my life. It was a powerful reminder that the most memorable travel experiences often come from stepping outside your comfort zone and embracing the adventure.

What is your favourite luxury hotel and why?

I have too many to mention, but one that stands out is Patina Maldives. What sets it apart for me is its unique blend of world-class hospitality, exceptional dining, and a strong focus on art and design.

The culinary experiences were outstanding, with a variety of innovative restaurants showcasing incredible flavours and fresh local ingredients. I also loved how art is thoughtfully woven throughout the resort, creating a sense of discovery and inspiration at every turn.

The highlight of my stay,  was the James Turrell Skyspace. This remarkable light installation provided a truly reflective experience, perfectly complementing the natural beauty of the Maldives. It was unlike anything I had experienced before and made my stay at Patina Maldives genuinely unforgettable with this surprise element!

Why do you love travel? Tell us what it means to you?

I love travel because it pushes me out of my comfort zone and encourages me to see the world from different perspectives. Some of my most rewarding experiences have come from exploring unfamiliar places, meeting new people, and embracing cultures that are very different from my own.

Travel gives me the opportunity to learn about how other people live, their traditions, values, and daily lives. It opens your eyes to the incredible diversity of the world and reminds you that there is always something new to discover and understand.

For me, travel is about much more than simply visiting a destination. It is a chance to connect with people, gain a deeper appreciation of different cultures, and create meaningful experiences. Every journey teaches me something new and leaves me with a greater sense of gratitude.

Most importantly, travel reminds me to stay humble, kind, and open-minded. It has shaped the way I see the world and continues to inspire me both personally and professionally. I truly believe that travel has the power to broaden horizons, challenge perspectives, and bring people together in a way that few other experiences can.
