Italy's Idyllic Amalfi Coast To Get Its Own Airport
Getting to the Amalfi Coast will now be easier than ever, thanks to a retired private airport's huge transformation.
The picturesque Amalfi Coast will soon become more accessible to travellers worldwide, with the opening of retired private airport Salerno Costa d'Amalfi in July 2024.
Situated 21km from the vibrant city of Salerno and 45km from Amalfi, this newly modernised airport will offer a seamless entry point to paradise. The airport will be enhanced with a 2km-long runway extension and plans for a sustainable passenger terminal by 2027, with full expansion plans to be completed by 2043.
This is welcome news for a destination previously only accessible by train, bus, boat, or private transfer. Say goodbye to long train rides and bus journeys - it's time to fly straight to the heart of the Amalfi Coast.
